All the more reason ur prolly willing to bet it lol. But if I had to guess, I'd say ur right. Esp after what u say bout gas/diesel trucks (mine 94 7.3 had 3.55's) and tjc lookin up the axle code (thanks, btw!!) I think it's safe to assume I scored 4.10's. Which is awesome, cuz I already have a set of 3.55's. I'm going to assume that the 4.10's will work in a kingpin 60 & vice versa.
So does anyone know for sure if ttb44 calipers n rotors will work on said axle? They're pretty new and I hate to ditch new stuff if I don't have to. If I was any good @ puttin pics up, I'd show y'all my axle tommorrow. And if everything keeps going as well as it has been lately, I may need to start a build thread soon.

i do know that D-50 and D-60 rotors from 88-89 will fit on a 74-76 D-44, cause i did that for one of the kids. so i think it is safe to say yes, the 44 rotors will work on that 60

Tom i know that in the 70s the rotors/calipers were the same on the 8 lug 44 and d60. Calipers went to wedge pin style in 80.

on a side not you goin to the ATN this year? i will if i can bum a ride.

Thanks guys, I kinda thought so...and it wouldn't hurt me to just try it anyway, but I didn't see why they'd be diff. The calipers also look pretty well "universal" between 3/4 ton 80's axles. Guess I'll just give it a try and see if they fit. I'd say they're heavy-duty enough to work properly, as this truck has a higher gvw than my old 78 with a factory d60 (idk how that works tho, what with my massive ttb44).

Honestly it'll be a while before I get the 60 under there, as I have just enough cash to nab this thing while it's still there. That and I have a couple other things that are higher on my list at the moment. BUT when it's under there, I'll just run what I've got right now (35x12.5-16.5 General Grabbers), however, I'm always searching craigslist and yards and everywhere else I can think of ($$ permitting) for a set of Goodyear RT-II's. The c6 def ain't staying in the truck, and I'm not certain the 351w will, either. I'm actually trying to save my pennies for a buddy's old truck (86' F250 4x4; 6.9, T19, ttb44, 10.25...$750 runs n drives). I kno it wouldn't be a powerhouse or a dragster, but I'm lookin to do a psuedo-resto-mod truck. If that falls thru, then I have a 69' 460 sitting in the barn lookin for a home, too...

Don't wanna sound like a douche, but been there done that. 3.55's n 35's isn't TOO bad, but I don't think I'd go any taller. If the RT-II's were a 36 I'd prolly do that but def no more. This truck will see lots of road time and most of that will be hauling scrap and parts for other projects with some light off roading mixed in there. Hoping the diesel/BB/4 spd combo will help negate the effects of the taller tires. My old 7.3 did ok with an e40d and 3.55's on 35's. Then again it was a turbo 7.3 (still IDI tho). but the 35's didn't hurt it like most people would think. Idk, guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there. He'll, maybe I'll stumble onto some 4.88's or 5.13's for the trail buggy before then!! (yea right)

Well, got forced over two hours at work, so no axle today. However, I did manage to make it there before closing time and ran all the way to the back almost cleaning out the bed of loose parts. Grabbed the knuckles and both axle shafts and paid for the axle, so it's mine as soon as I can figure out how to fit it in the trunk of the Sentra, OR get a truck lined up. Also laid the d60 and d44 long shafts next to each other...holy bejeezus, what a difference! I doubt I ever go back to a 44 (well, as soon as I get the kingpin 60 built and put into the bronco)...

Got the axle today, sheer luck I was able to go pick it up tho. Anyway, got it home and looked it over. Already knew it needs new ball joints. Also gonna need a new drag link (pirated for the bronco, which is how I even found the axle in the first place), prolly rod ends, bushings for the trac bar, and in my hurry to get home with my new toy, like an idiot, never realized that I am missing the u-bolt plate (cast iron thing) under the drivers side of the diff. Will one from a 70's truck work? I have a couple laying around somewhere, so I may try anyway.
The good news, the 90w in the diff looks good, no signs of water or water damage so I think I lucked out. No "wet spots" on or around the pinion or diff cover so seals must be ok (gasket needs replaced now lmao). The r&p look pretty healthy (open diff...bummer, o well) as do the bearings. The tubes need cleaned out tho, and the shafts are kinda rusty from laying in the bed for what looks to be quite a while. U joints still good, no play/slop whatsoever & seem to move freely with no binding. Slingers are shot tho. All in all, I think I made out pretty well, it's def in better shape than i expected and it DOES have 4.10's so it's basically a bolt in 60 and will go right in the truck with zero issues (am I right?)

Ok fellas, while prepping the axle to be cleaned and painted, I noticed a couple things I'm missing. One is the "u-bolt plate" that goes under the drivers side of the diff (I assume it's cast, just like a 70's truck) my question is, will one from a 70's truck work...anyone kno? And the second one, a little more serious, on the upper ball joint "hole" my drivers side is missing a "sleeve" that the actual ball joint goes thru. What exactly is it called and where might I be able to order one? O'Riellys and the zone say they can't get them (assuming they even kno what I'm talking about). Btw, while I'm at it, what are some good "affordable" ball joints to look at?

I can't answer the first question. But, I believe the missing "sleeve" for the upper ball joint is an alignment shim. At least, that's how the twin I beam and TTB are both setup......

the missing "sleeve" is the camber cam. it is used to align the front end.
