Cruise control problem

I was driving home from work tonight and had cruise set as normal and all of a sudden it just kicked out and I couldn't get it to turn back on. Checked every fuse in dash panel and power distribution box under the hood and all check ok. Air lines and plug to the cruise controller look good as well. Help anyone! I need my cruise bad

Did you check the vac connections under the dash at the pedals( brake and clutch)? I had that problem before and that was the culprit.

Wonder if the cable snapped. I've seen it happen on the pre 1992 version, but am not sure if the cable is accessible on your verison.

They are up underneath near the brakelight switch. They are the only vac operated stuff under there.

This is a 92 David, cable from what I could see looks good. I am off work tomorrow so I can crawl under the dash and look for those lines you speak of Ken. Sucks right now driving the 30 miles to work without my cruise!

if i am not mistaken, the 92 uses a "clockspring" in the column. one of the classic signs of a bad clockspring is cruise control, or horn failure.

Then you don't need cruise, but a manual fast-idle switch instead - works wonders in creeper traffic
