no instrument lights, no start!

Ok I was disconnecting a CB the PO installed and like a dummy I didnt disconnect the Batteries. I shorted a white wire he had spliced into in the steering column for power and now the truck cranks but nothing shows up on the instrument cluster and it will not fire. Any Ideas what I might have blown? Fuse, relay, or pc board? I would appreciate any input. You guys always seem to have the answers. :-) And it would really make my day! Thanks in advance
M V .

I would start by checking fuses under the drivers side dash.

I checked all of the fuses, and they all have power to both sides. I dont know where this white wire from under the column is for. Is there a wiring diagram somewhere on this forum?

odds are its just a fuse. there is a box under the hood and one on the steering wheel panel. start checking.
