daytime running lights stuck on......

daytime running lights stuck on......

I have a 97 F150 lariat, the daytime running lights wont shut off and the bright indicator in the instrument cluster is on with the ignition in off position and key out! wondering if anyone has any answers to why this is happening? I have disconnected the battery and still does the same thing. Any information would be wonderful thank you!

Could have a bad DRL module. Check under the driver's side wheel well and look at the front of the frame cross-memeber, there should be a wire harness that conects to a little black box .....unplug it and see if that eliminates your light problem.

Is it factory day time running lights or aftermarket? My dads boss had the same issue on a vehicle he brought up from the states and ended up disconecting them.

Thanks for the replies, I have narrowed it down to the DRL module I wasn't sure where it was located though, I have a wiring scematics drawing and found the fuse for the module, if anyone is interested it is fuse #9 in the power distribution box
