Nitrous

In all honesty whats the safe amount of nitrous a 7.3 can take at a close to stock level? Mainly hitting the point of no head studs, just a turbo, fuel, and a tune (And other complying mods)

ummmm... wut size turbo and injectors. you should run head studs w/ an aftermarket turbo slick... even if it's as small as an H2E(D66 shouldn't need studs).

You might want to do plenty of research on using nitrous before you decide to just throw it on b/c you have most likely never touched the stuff before. I'm not sure how much nitrous you could run, but Cody ran nitrous on his old truck with stage 1's and the stock turbo. It ran good. I don't remember how much nitrous he was spraying, but it wasn't much. all your going to use the nitrous for is to help clear up the little bit of fuel left over that the turbo cannot clean up.

I know and yep never touched the stuff. And its not really for me a buddy just wants to throw some on a 7.3 he may be getting, cause it puffs a little black and I do know the Injectors are some of jims, just dont know the size and the turbo is a 66MM and truck has a DP tuner on it.

66mm turbo doesn't clear the smoke up??? needs headstuds, pushrods, valve springs, then spray and pray

He could still add nitrous if he wants to if he puts more fuel to it, but might need to add a wastegate to keep from popping the turbo. Do you happen to know wut kind of turbo he has?? i'm looking into running a 66mm on mine and just seeing how everyone elses is running.

IDK he's kind of like my cousin, and he lives in West Virgnia and he is a Cummins guy most the time but he hate the local cummins guys there so he is strokin it and yeah. If I can get a picture I will see what it is, and the truck seems to run nice. Also you mentioned you found where a place does a S300 for our trucks, could you kindly send?

doing an S300 is just like doing any other turbo like the H2E or something. gotta get a T4 mounting kit from one of various sources.. I got mine from Murff Racing for $475 w/ ceramic coating. from there you gotta get the turbo so figure out which one will suit your needs and order one up. mount the T4 mounting kit(up pipes and pedistal), throw the turbo in, then make your feed and return lines, then fab up new pipes for the IC and stuff.

Well I want to do up a nice simple compound setup and T4 style turbos would be easier to plumb oil lines for the second turbo. Also from my research and looking the smaller turbo (On powerstroke apps) are mounted where the stock turbo was and the bigger one off to the side and I would like to do a 66mm S300 as the small one, as for the second turbo I am still up in the air.

i will look for some threads on this kinda stuff. with basic stage 2's like mine you can still tow heavy w/ a stock H2E turbo. that would be the easiest route. compounds wouldn't do you much good w/ that little amount of fuel. you can build a tow capable truck with 250cc injectors if you wanted to. Heck if you did 238cc/80% injectors, switched to SD turbo mounting setup and a GTP38R you could tow pretty well and see around 500hp all day long.

Much appreciated and I want to keep my towing capability but I also want to be competitive on the track.
