I pulled mine last summer at a local fair, did pretty good, a couple friends and I pulled exhibition. The sanctioning body has weight limits for each class, 6200lbs for street stock gas, and their was no way a super duty was gonna make weight, not to mention the blower. There was mine, an 02 5.4 6 speed, and an 05 cummins, not sure on the weight but we pulled at the end of the diesel class and I pulled the farthest. Were going to do it again in a couple weeks, definately a good time.
It spun a little at first, but the track was really hard packed. I was suprised how well the nitto's worked. I'm running 6psi. right now, I have an 8-9psi pulley that I throw on sometimes, but the truck was tuned with the 6 so I don't like pulling any weight with the smaller one on. I don't know the specs on your truck, but I know mine tipped the scales at a little over 7400lbs, they said I could add weight and pull in the diesel class. Their should be 5 or 6 of us going this year, we don't take it to serious, it's just about the bragging rights for us. Good luck if you try it and let us know how you do.
The weight thing is funny, these trucks are definately heavy, the night we pulled my buddy pulled his dodge, 05 cummins cc sb, it was around 500lbs lighter than mine. Mr-pipeline let me know what you want the pics of and i'll see what i can do.
Glad to see you here Mr.pipeline.
When I pull, its going to be with your old engine!
Because I have a ZF5, I am thinking of useing 4WD high range.
I would not have to upshift until 19 MPH that way.
Is there any reason to use 4L?
Seems like would take way to much shifting.
