Well i pulled tonight and all i can say is this thing pulls like a freight train. My buddy and i pulled exhibition at the end of their pure street class(he has an 02 5.4 6speed) and if we were allowed to compete we would have been 1st and 2nd(302ft for me 292 for him) For some reason my trans seemed to be hunting for the right gear, i pull in 4lo and let the trans do its thing, the track was like concrete tonight. At the end of the night there was about 5-6 guys that were gonna hook up and just use a floating finish so i pulled again, this time i dropped the trans in low and kept her around 45-5k and went 310ft, there was a 7.3 ford, 6.0 chevy, dmax chevy, 2 cummins dodges and 2 460 fords, i didn't get any specs but the only thing that went farther was one of the dodges(314ft) I'm actually thinking of going back tomorrow night and entering the stock diesel class. I have a video i just have to figure out how to post it.
Sounds like fun V10RP! Wish I could have been there but a weekday was just not practical for me to make it over there. I still would like to do a pull sometime however.
BTW you pull in the diesel class and get any video?
Hopefully this work. The truck was hunting for the right gear, wish i would have gotton the second pull where i held it 1st the whole way. Monster-4, no problem, i understand how hard it is to make a drive like that on a week night, i didn't make it to pull in the diesel class, got stuck at work until about 9:30. DKF, good idea on the photobucket, thanks.
Actually, i'm not sure why it was hunting like that, my rev limiter is set at 5500 and it never revved that high, i pulled again at the end of the night a put the shifter in 1st and it never revved over 5k, it's all good though, i think i have might have found a six speed.
I've wanted to do it since i bought it, but it seems like theirs always something else going on and the auto keeps chugging along, right now its one of those friend of a friend things, a buddy knows a guy that has one with the pedal, shifter and everything that came from a gasser, hopefully i can track him down. I can definately post some pics if i do it, it's not the best time for me to buy it but if the price is right i'll jump on it, it would be a little while before i could swap it in, would still have to get a clutch and flywheel.
A couple of videos of recent pulls. Hopefully these work better than the last one. This one was a 3rd place finish. 2nd place finished 1.68 inches ahead of me.
The second video was a 1st place finish, but there were only 6 trucks in my class for this one, including 2 other Ford V10's.
