Hi,
I just bought an early model 2003 F350 with a blown 6.0 motor. I also have found a good running wrecked late built 2004 Ford F250. I keep getting conflicting opionions. Can I put the 2004 6.0 in my early 2003? If so what will I have to change around to make it work. I have everything from the 2004 if I get it so I should be able to do this right? Help! Thanks in advance!
I read about it being done. One of the issues encountered was with the electrical system (wiring harnesses IIRC). Can't recall if there was anything else.
It has been done. Look for posts by Slavik and Matty. Matty helped Slavik out quite a bit with info and advice. Time frame was last February or so. I put an 06 in my 04

Great post, good memory Rick - reps will have to wait though.
You have that reversed. The 03 has the round cooler, the 04 has the square cooler. I would say that the square cooler works quite well when combined with a coolant filter and properly managed coolant maintenance. It does not like to be starved for coolant
