I am building a 79 F250 4x4 with a 351w auto. Both of my exhaust manifolds are cracked, so it looks like I will go with headers. What is the best option for this combination? I prefer shorties.
If you just want shorties I'm sure just about any will work since you'll be making the rest of the exhaust anyway. My cousin put GT40P heads on his 89 F-150. The P heads have different spark plug angles and require special headers. He used GT40P headers that were for a Mustang on his truck. They fit just fine and there was plenty of clearance everywhere, lots of room under that truck hood especially with a small block.
I will go ahead and get some shorties and see if they clear everything. I am not really a header fan, but I do need this to flow. Has anyone tried hipo clone exhaust on a 4x4 pickup?
