New Truck...Need Radio Help
Recently purchased a 1995 F250 HD. The PO said he never got the radio working from the guy he bought it from. I have no idea where to start with something like this so if anyone could explain what wires I need to connect where then that would be great. I gotta have my tunes
I took the head unit out and this is what I found....
If the pictures are not working please look in my albums. Thank you
Behind the head unit. The plug on the left doesn't even fit the back of the head unit...
Close up of the wires on the left:
Different Angle:
Two other parts that came with the truck:
Close up of the center wire plug that fits!:
Close up of the spliced wires plug:
Back of head unit:
Thanks all

What a mess the PO left for you. I bet He had an aftermarket radio in there and threw in an old Ford radio before the truck sale and kept the aftermarket, wiring up the garbage in a makeshift attempt for tunes!
How do you know the radio works?
Is it the right one for your truck?
Broken connectors held together with zip ties.
Automotive wires held together with wire nuts.
You need to clean up the mess before you can see if a problem exists
This is what I would do:
1) Order two new radio connectors from Motorcraft or get them at a boneyard
2) Obtain a wiring diagram (buy a factory ford one on eBay, get an online one from an autoparts store like Autozone, buy a Chiltons book)
3) Spend a quality hour or so soldering the new plugs back on the harness. Use heatshrink tubing for insulation not tape.
4) check the fuse
5) plug in the proper radio or buy the converter cables from Fry's or Crutchfield for a new aftermarket radio. The converter cables will cost less that $20 for the two you need. They will plug right in.
Good luck!

I had custom leather bucket seats made by a firm in Commerce (a small city just south of L.A.). They are leather with thigh and side bolsters. The driver's side has an inflatable lumbar support. My bench seat was ratty and sagging. I have a bad back and the new firm seats with the bolsters and lumbar support makes all the difference in the world.

I got them made here:
Truck Seats,Bench Truck Seat,Replacement Seats,Leather Seats
I got the somethiing like the 500 with the burl upgrade to the console (matches the wood trim on the Lariat/XLT).
I also liked the c5, empress, and the aristocrat.
They did not have the 500 when I bought it. Mine is similar but with higher bolsters. I paid more than $500 and less than $1000. My memory can't retrieve the exact price.
I've since removed that dorky steering wheel cover and recovered the steering wheel rim with black leather
