I want to build a sub box for my 06 F-150 crew, does anyone have the measurements for this? I have a good pioneer deck 40x4 and I have already installed MTX speakers front and back, sounds like crap by the way. I have an alpine MRV 300 amp and a 10 Fosgate sub lying around from my Mustang so I was going to use them. I cant get the MTX's to give much sound without distorting any tips are welcome.
I made a sub box to fit under the rear seat of my '01 expedition. It also fits under the seat of my '06 F150 and sounds great with a 10" JL in it. Here are my plans, hope they help.

your deck isnt 40x4 RMS which is what you want. its only about 15. the mtx's probably need somewhere around 40-50 RMS. you need a 4 ch amp to get good sound. im in the same boat with my JVC door speakers.
Guess I will try my amp and or get another one to run the sub, cant stand the mushy base.
just get a good 4 ch amp. even a pioneer from walmart will work. most door speakers need at least 40-50 to work good. you always need to meet the RMS requirements.
I've run several systems with a good 4 channel amp. The one I have is 4x75 but its 250 @ 4ohms mono so it drives a sub well. I built my last few sub boxes for under the seat & down firing. It works great. I even have the sub in my Ranger down firing. It sounds much better than it did firing up or forward.
I like the way it blends with the front speakers down firing. The other ways I could tell where the sub was in the truck. Down firing you can't tell where the sub is located. Plus it does hit harder too.
