A few more similes
· He spoke with the wisdom that can only come from experience, like a guy who went blind because he looked at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it and now goes around the country speaking at high schools about the dangers of looking at a solar eclipse without one of those boxes with a pinhole in it.
· From the attic came an unearthly howl. The whole scene had an eerie, surreal quality, like when you're on vacation in another city and Jeopardy comes on at 7:00 p.m. instead of 7:30 p.m.
· They lived in a typical suburban neighbourhood with picket fences that resembled Nancy Kerrigan's teeth.
· He fell for her like his heart was a mob informant and she was the East River.
· Her eyes were like limpid pools, only they had forgotten to put in any pH cleanser.
That's OK, I can't spell smilees. And I type like an octopus with 7 sprained tentacles.

Simile: A figure of speech in which two unlike things are compared, the comparison being made explicit typically by using like or as........
OK so now we know what a simile is, why does it matter?
I think I missed a thread somewhere.
Like a fish out of water, he found it hard to breathe in the room with the Duct Tape and Plastic sheeting.....
