I had a tire throw the belt after only 10K miles. I got to looking at the tire model and SN, come to find out it had a recall on it from Goodyear. After doing the pass it on shuffle from Goodyear and walmart 1-800 we will get back with you. I went to the Store with all my paper work and even printed out the recall notice. the Manager wanted to pro rate it, I said no. its under a recall it should be replaced for free. He said if I will pay $5.00 for disposal fee and valve stems, he would do it. I said ok that will work. they put them on then hand me a bill for $40.00 a tire! I said no you said $5.00, I said take them off and I'll go over to Discount tires. they said as long as they had the SN and recall they would do it.
After waiting 30 minutes for them to take the tire off, the Store Manager charged me nothing. I will never buy tires from walmart. they must be nuts charging for recalled tires. Even with road hazard warranty it would have cost 50% of the tire after 10K miles of wear. sounds fishy to me.
The Viva II's sold at Walmart and also the douglas xtrac with SN NWHY. If you figure the road hazard cost $10.00 a tire, the tire cost $70.00 you have $80.00 in each tire. they prorate it so it always comes out to half the price of the tire!
I have never had a problem with Discount tires fixing, rotating, balancing my tires all for free. But I bought the van used with new tires and all the paper work on up keep. only reason I had to deal with walmart this time.
I had a Sam's Club strip one lug and bust another without bothering to tell me about. They let me drive off with that condition. I don't use their services any longer.
I ONLY go to Sears to get my tires. They do a very good job and I have never had an issue with them. I've heard horror stories of people who have gone to NTB and Discount Tire. All those cheap tire places have are $8.00/hour illegals who barely know the basics.
I avoid Walmart whenever I can, for many reasons. Its not that they are a big box store, it has more to do with how they use their big money to force their way into the market. They really wreaked havoc in my city when they bribed 3 of our 5 city council members into letting them build a new Walmart in a place they had already approved for a new city park years earlier. They pushed in through despite that fact that concerned citizens collected 15,000 votes against the move in a city of 70,000. The fact they collected that many votes that quickly tells you how many people were opposed to the move. But Wallyworld officials have a lot of money, and they will use it to get their way. This was all after the old Walmart had driven out all the smaller cycle shops, pet shops, and craft shops in town. The new building they put up is smaller, and has a poor selection of those same things, so now we have to drive to the other end of the county to get the same stuff from smaller local businesses that actually carry the stuff we want. They also drove out all the local shoe stores, and the selection of shoes at Walmart is terrible.
Its all about monopolizing the area. Guess what happened to the low prices once the local competition was gone.

The last time I went to Sears to get new tires, the guy who did the work raised my van by the rocker panels, and collapsed them. I found out too late, so I can not prove that it was they who did it. I told the manager that I will never do business with them again for that reason.

Do you know that they are illegals? Have you any proof? If so, you should report them. The worst part about illegals working in places like that, besides lack of proper training, is lack of accountability. Now if you're just ranting based on speculations...

Was that votes or signatures on a petition?
It's funny that people complain of corruption by our elected officials in Washington, when they don't have to look further than their city council. We had a similar incident in our city, and despite objections brought in petitions, the City was going to do what it had planned to do. This story had it all: a slimy developer who got the council to grant variances to ordinances so he could build beyond code, the council members who were so obviously in his pockets, the pretense of endless hours of public hearings to collect inputs from the neighborhood, and further intrigue. It took a law suit brought on by the neighborhood association to stop the action. It seemed like a good result, until one starts to wonder why THIS particular neighborhood association was so concerned, when it seemed that they would not have been directly affected by the action.
Sorry for going off topic; city politics can be so mysterious.
I have found that every time you spend a dollar, you cast a vote. If you see companies that do things you don't like, supporting groups you don't agree with, just cast your vote by taking your business elsewhere. Of course you do also need to let them know why you are doing that, otherwise they will attribute the loss in sales to something else.
It worked with Ford. When they were openly supporting the homosexual agenda, the US consumers let their voices be heard. They boycotted Ford until Ford took notice. Did it have an effect? For 14 of the 16 months the boycott lasted, Ford's sales were lower than the other American automakers, despite the fact that they showed they were building better cars. Once the boycott ended, the situation began a reversal, and now relative to the market Ford sales are strong.
Its an interesting thing to think about, but we may have a bunch of corrupt officials, and we may have many things we cannot control, but money does talk, and we can control to a large degree what we spend it on, and we can send messages to the people in power with this money.

Not if they are the only game in town left. I seen main street Mom and pops dry up and go away. Then your stuck with the ChinaMarts of the world. I quit going to ChinaMart cause they are still selling poisoned dog food. My dog died new years day cause of the stuff.
Anyways, I should not have to boycott stores for Safety\Health concerns. Our **** poor government should at least make sure the food supply is fit to eat. but instead they choose to import everything from peanuts to airplane parts. to make there stock go up .10th a point. as with most Americans they fund such things with their 401K's, and retirement funds.
I just want good safe products, I know I can count on when I get in a car, plane, or eat.

Sorry to hear that, harsh Chicago winters have rusted mine away so all they can do is lift my van from the frame.

Yes, I live in the Chicagoland area and illegals are all over the place. Reporting them will do nothing. Police here only focus on illegals that are in gangs like MS13; illegals who work in places like NTB generally are not drug dealers or gang members so they are a low priority.
