I pulled the clip!

And am very glad I did for many reasons, most importantly was the easy access to everything.

I think it is a couple of bolts that hold the latch to the support. The rest is held by bolts at the fenders and 2 at the frame horns. I would pull the batteries to reduce the wieght that will be on the fenders Whe nther support is out.

That would be the core support ... It detaches at the fenders and support mounts, it's pretty easy to remove UNLESS the truck is rusty!

Rick before I used the harbor freight cherry picker I would rent a good one especially if you are not planning on using it much. Personally I would stay away from the engine stand unless it is one with the cross piece in front and has 4 castors on it. The ones with 3 castors are just too light for these motors.

That is a good idea star. My stand has the 4 castors and the front cross but the 6.9 was still to much for it.

Yea, you know I had the runaway problem first, the cause of that was a leak on the IP where the throttle shaft goes thru,I took it out and put new O-rings in and put the top back on wrong,,,,and there she went!!!,I then took the pump off,,the wrong way of course, got it out of time, finally got it running,it was running rough and chuffing,so I put new injectors and elec fuel pump and new water seperator, got it running again,it was very very rough, chuffing louder than that vidio,so I assumed it had a broke rod or somthing,,,,now Im not so sure,

Ah I see. Well with any luck it was just a bad valve. I know it is a bit caveman like, but I have always checked the valves (with the head off the engine) by pouring water in the passages and watching to see if it seeped out.

Oh ya I know. I just so happened that we had bought this house just before my started chuffing. I used part of the rebate for the fix lol. Of course right after that the tranny went out. That killed my turbo plans.
