EBPV problems

The EBPV is sticking in another truck I've got and it is also leaking oil at the actuator rod. It is my plan to remove the part of the turbo that clamps to the DP, take out the butterfly valve and plug the hole. then gut the actuator and put a plug in the rod hole. Can all this be done with the turbo in the truck? and am I missing any part of the procedure? Thanks everyone!

Who did the delete to your truck? Or did you do it with the motor out? Sorry that I have questions instead of answers. Hopefully you can leave the turbo in because I'd really like to get that dang thing out of mine.

you can do it with it in the truck, but you'll get metal shavings in the actuator rod cylinder.

Best to remove it and just cut it off and get it welded. Be done with it.
If you cannot get it welded. you can just pull the plunger out and cap the hole with a pipe thread plug after taping it.

I haven't finished my article yet. otherwise I'd try and show more of whats going on.

With the actuator housing out of the way, the turbo can be removed without any effort.
and reinstalled. I can get mine out in about 20 mins.

I'll do my delete when your article is done, something I've been meaning to do.

What welding process is used?

Thanks Talyn, I just went and looked the problem over and I noticed that one of the wires going to the turb was bare and it was shorting out on the intake plenom, causing the EBPV to stay shut. I may take the turbo off and mod the pedastal like you say, if it makes the turbo that easy to get off!

Why would you buy an overpriced banks product that doesn't do anything new?

No offense to your thought there,
but you just gut out the EPVB, throw in a freeze plug and your done.

You have to have the pedestal tig welded.
I got mine done for 20 dollars.
