Blah, the spring inside my choke housing is broke... is this a difficult find? I was able to get it to "slide" back in under what was still attached in the center, is this still usable? I'll get a pic on later when I have my camera charged.
Also I'm missing the part (adjustable choke plate plastic swivel) circled in red, almost looks like a paper clip is being used. Is that going to be in the kit? Nope.
The spring comes with the choke cover only.
Look on the cover, it will have a ONE or TWO letter code embossed on it, post what it is.
There were sooo many variations of these covers, this is the only way to get the correct one.
The same carb kit fits ALL 1962/74 Auto-Lite/Motorcraft 2100 2V carburetors: D4AZ9A586A (replaced C2AZ9A586B) Motorcraft CT499D (replaced Motorcraft CT499C) / Available from FoMoCo and autoparts stores.
The kit does not come with the plastic swivel (C4TZ9D563A), this was sold separately and not all these carbs have it.
There are two inline filters that thread into the carb. One is only used with the 4V's, and there is no way = none, it will thread into a 2V carb, because the threads are larger.
This is the correct fuel filter: D3AZ9155C (replaced C5UZ9155A) Motorcraft FG14C (replaced Motorcraft FG14) /
This is not correct, used with Auto-Lite/Motorcraft/Holley 4V's only: D3OZ9155B (replaced C7OZ9155A) Motorcraft FG19C (replaced Motorcraft FG19).
From 1968 to 1972 the carburetors were 2BBL 2V's on the F100's and F250"s on the 360's. I'm rebuilding a 68 F100 360 engine. I'm going back stock. The only thing I'm really changing is the carburation. I'm going from a 2BBL 2V to a Edlebrook Preformer 500cfm which is plenty strong enough for a stock rebuild. If you're not looking for power, then this is a good way to go. It's just a suggestion. One more thing. Be sure you clean out your tank real good, blow out your gas lines real good and you change your gas filter. You should not have any more problems. (I hope).
