Rear diff cover bolts

Rear diff cover bolts

Does anyone know the torque specs for the bolts that hold the rear diff cover on. And what weight oil to use, I have Mobil 1 75W90, do I need something heavier.

Rear diff cover bolts

In the rear diff you need to use 75W-140 synthetic. I don't know the specs for the rear cover, I have a mag hy-tec know the specs for that.

If it is a LS rear end, I think you are supposed to use a bottle of friction modifier also.

good point nafzimo. I forgot to mention the friction modifier. You can either get the gear oil with it already or purchase it separately.

Thanks guys, I got some Amsoil 75w140 and friction additive. I torqued the bolts to 40 ft.lbs. I figure thats good for 1/2 in. bolts. Thanks for responding so fast.
