Yes, you will need longer bolts as the 08 cover is noticeably thicker than the stocker. I don't remember what size is needed as when I picked my cover up from the stealership they also supplied me the new bolts (for an additional charge obviously). Hopefully someone else can help enlighten you on the exact size. If I had to guess I would say 1.25".

That's exactly right Josh, the 1 1/2" bolts are just a little too long. You can use them but you have to add washers.

Thanks I just thought about it before I was going to change them. Have to wait until the stores open tomorrow.

Yep -- you're covered. It was hard to find them in SS at Lowes/HD, so I went with 1 1/2 and bought some extra flat washers for spacers. Only a couple needed them. Most tightened up fine with just a single flat & lock washer. What kind of fluid are you using? I went with Royal Purple syn 75W-140 with the friction modifier in it already. It worked out perfectly. Here's what mine looks like:

That's the correct length. I found the 1 1/4" long SS bolts were carried at a Sears Hardware store.

Yup. But shocks don't help me go faster. Unless they're broke, they ain't getting replaced.

I wasn't referring to the shocks, specificly, but things like "sticks and turbos".
