Tell me where you would like to see a "warning" light on a gauge set up...

Pyro...
Boost...
Tranny temp...
Oil temp...
Water temp...
Fuel pressure...
Oil pressure...
Exhaust back pressure...
Diff temp...
Volt reading...

Let me know what you think... got something coming I think...

Excuse the pic, crappy cell pic...

I think it's a real good idea. Not always paying attention to the gauges in the heat of the moment, that would get your attention.

I am giessing that it is like a pre alarm condition. IE Pyro sets of a warning at 1200* Coolant at xxx* like that.

Thats what is being worked on... Michael and myself are running a few test subjects right now, but I am currious what you guys would want as preset warning thresholds...

Fuel pressure more then 50psi??? Or less then 50psi? A stock OBS with a mechanical fuel pump will see spikes and lulls below 40psi. Just trying to understand your thought process...

Good idea on the boost gauge...

Boost 0-30 would be at say 25 psi
Boost 0-40 would be at say 30-35psi?
Boost 0-60 would be at 40 psi...

Kind of go up as the boost does to step up as the mods do...

Mine is set at 35 psi right now to test the function, as I can hit that fairly easy.

Water temp is set at 190* as well. it was on most of the way from Bend to here...LOL

Its not a bad idea, wonder if a warning buzzer would be in there as well, just a thought.

How about a different sound alarm for each item monitored? That way, when you hear a particular sound, you know what gauge to look at.

Problem with a buzzer... What if its something that may go off for a while... A pyro would be one thing, but a oil temp, or a water temp would **** you off on a hot day pulling a grade with a few horse...

Yes....a buzzer on the pyro would be great,
My eyes are usually in the mirrors when I'm pouring the coal to her.
By the time I see the pyro, its coming down.

How long can you drive looking in the mirrors without looking foward?

I'm interested Joe. The wife is looking for a different set of gauges. The other light up warning type gauges either seem too expensive or too cheap. Please keep me updated on these.

I'm not sure why you had ECT set so low. I've seen EOT running around 208 when empty on a warm day down in Texas.

If the light started flashing, you would look at the light, and therefore be looking at the correct gauge I would think.

I'm sure a light would work also.......lol, I would need a bright one down here though.
Longer than I should. If you seen the way my boss loads our trailers, you would understand.
