Unhappy 87 bronco II electrical problems

FIRST POST EVER BY ME

alright guys i got a huge problem. my truck was running fine, i bought it like 4 months ago. i was haveing no problems. ran great and got me everywhere i need to go. well one day, about 2-3 weeks ago on my way to work, the truck shut off. out of nowhere. no warning signs no nothing. now i have gone through everything i could think of, now i come to yall and ask for some greatly needed help.

problems, there is a list
1. turning the key gives me nothing. no lights, nothing.
2. i have no fire from the ignition coil.
3. i have headlights, but no hazard or turn signals nor window (this truck is all power)
4.truck doesnt turn over, but when i go to starter cylinoide (sp) i can turn engine over, but like i said, no fire, no fuel to cylinders.

now what i have replaced:
1. the altenator went bad, so i replaced that
2.i replace the relay that is connected to the coil
3. starter switch i replaced a month ago.
4. did a recent tune up, also about amonth ago.

now finaly wht i think caused the problem, there is a wire they was bare that touched metal, it was the one between the ignition coil and relay, and i replace relay and the ignition coil is fine. now i am in a pickle. i was thinking about the distributor, but i am tired of pooring money into it and getting no resoults. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

i am tired of fighting with this truck, but i want to keep it. its my first bought vehicle!

Replacing parts by guessing is the last thing you want to do. If the thing won't crank, and a lot of electrical devices don't work, what makes you think a distributor of all things is going to fix your issue?

There are wires leading off the battery lead off the start solenoid. I don't remember 100%, but some of these wires have fusible links in them, they look like large rubber blocks in the middle of the wires. If the rubber link stretches when you pull on it - its bad. I'd start with these wires though, as these power your entire truck.

the altenator i took to nappa and they said it was bad. the fusible links were the first thing i checked. i was think distibuter cause the plug to the ignition coil had 2 wires. one to the relay i replaced and one to the distributer. i had a buddy come over and he is good at electrical stuff and he was confused by it, so was my dad. i am deffentaly confused. i am now just following the wire from where it touched bare metal to wire to where ever i can find the problem :/

A distributor would not cause a no crank situation. It would cause a no-start or poor running, but not a no crank.

Now the manual for my 1987 Ranger indicates that there are 8 fusible links.

It says for the ignition switch, there is a 16 gauge fusible link on the left hand fender inner panel.

The EEC-IV processor relay fusible link is a 20 gauge link near the starter solenoid.
