my race project

i am sumarizing my thread off another local website i frequent, just so yall can see it,/ give feedback on it.

i know it aint even a ford or a truck, but it is going to be towed with my tow rig...

anyways, on to the pics.

let me introduce, project pinky

this is mine and countries new project, and going to be her new autoxer.

first of all, it had the 4age dohc 1.6l 4 cyl, and 5 speed manual. FWD

3 door hatchback

needs right now are a clutch, coil ignitor, and a battery.

plans are to strip, and keep it fairly stock for the first couple events. this is to use it at first as a tool to teach country the basics of auto-x, and weed out any littlebugs/ problems.

so without any further mumbo-jumbo, onto the pics... this is how it sits right now...

This is truck-girl04, my G/f and the main driver of pinky

ah, time for some daytime pics.

alrighty, this is how she sits now, right now we are working on removing sound deadening, about to start pulling the trans to swap the clutch, and throwing in new lug studs on the front right since the last place to touch the wheels over-tightened/ cross threaded the lug nuts...

on to pics!!

blue top ftw.. amazing what a little wiping can reveal..

whats this?? exedy what???

as mara would say... ooo shiny!!!!

front right hub.. wth happened here???

i always break things when loosening them rofl

stripped/ working on deadedning

headli.. what????

we have the trans just about ready to be pulled, and going to have it put back together some time later this week, should also have the coil ingitor, so we can fire it up, and drive it around a tad!!

alright, time for an update/ pics these are all taken by mara.

we dropped the trans, pulled the starter, and driveaxles,

and right now we have the clutch out, this is the worst clutch i have seen yet!!!

here is the residue it left in the bellhousing...

and working on taking out the flywheel.

it REfuses to come out...

so right now, its soaking in PB blaster, and were gonna work on it tomorrow with a slightly different strategy.

got it out yesterday, re-installed a trans bolt for a leveage point of the screwedriver, and pried on it by myself.. all came out no problem with the right technique.

it definitely needs re-surfaced. how-ever it doesnt have a lip, or any score marks, just clutch material burnt on.

we also installed the coil igniter. and IT Fired!!!!!

right now, we are waiting to get the flywheel re-surfaced then will work on putting it back together, and running.
will have more updates as we work on it.. and mara brings her camera....
