i had a guy at my house the other day admiring my new project. its a 79 f150 4x4 custom with a 351 auto. i know none of that is rare, but i do have some cool stuff on it. ive got a light built into the top of the cab that lights up the bed. it has factory cruise, **** carpet and the headliner really cool, its black with diamond shapes (sorry im no good a discribing stuff. ill get a picture up soon) and finally my seat is a 40-20-40 seat. is any of that stuff rare? or does the guy not know what hes talkin about.
Not really sure what you mean by "rare;" people do all sorts of custom stuff to their truck to make it their own. I haven't seen any other light-blue trucks with white wagon wheels like mine. I think it's a cool look, but I don't consider it rare necessarily because it's relatively straight-forward for someone else to do the same thing.
If you're asking if they're rare factory options, then no, **** carpet and the headliner you described were never factory options. Sounds like a cool truck though.
Both my dents have the bed light mounted on the cab. Now (and it's already been suggested) if by what he means "rare" is the condition of some of the items like headliner or the cruise control and light (they work), then it could be considered a rarity.
Nothing is rare. The cab lights are some off the wall brand and are not stock either. What you have there is a pickup truck that looks like it was modified right in the early 80's. **** carpet went out a loooong time ago.
Considering it is a Custom model you might want to check for the rest of the cruise control items. You might just have a swapped in cruise control horn pad.
When you can see thru from the front side of the bed like that you have one hell of a rusty project on your hands.
I don't see anythin' that is original on that truck...
Nice Head Liner Berry...I see you have the outside dome light 'n shoulder belts, Which were first standard in '77 (But, was an option on '76-down models, Mine was lucky enough to still have lap belts)

Thanks. I attribute the condition of the interior to the truck being covered by a heavy canvas tarp for 25 years! Truck was only used for camping trips. (gramps was a painter).

The first year for those retractable belts were 1976. It was an option, and became standard in 1977.
The shoulder belt option before 1976 was totally different and consisted of the factory lap belt, and seperate shoulder belt you had to buckle seperately using a wye belt adapter type thing.
