It's more rare finding one for a cheap price.

Yes, they made the F350 4x4 in 1979. IIRC, it's the only year in the dentside body with styleside bed. It came with Dana 60 front and rear. (Or maybe the rear is a dana 70, my memory is getting bad)

1979 F350 4WD

72,674 1979 F350's were assembled. Of those, 18.4% had 4WD.

1979 was the first year FoMoCo offered the F350 w/4WD.

Available engines: 300 1V I-6 / 351M 2V / 400 2V.

No F350 4WD's w/a 460 until 1983, ditto for a 4 speed manual transmission.

Havi: Dana 60 front & rear.

By my math, that comes out to 13,372 trucks. NumberDummy, of those 18.4% (13,372) that were 4WD's, do you happen to know how many of them were Supercabs?

Sorry, I don't have those figures.

What I have are the percentages of the myriad options that were available for all 1979 F100/350's, Bronco's, Econolines and Ranchero's. See edit below.

If you want to know, there is a source: martiauto.com

Kevin Marti has all the data pertaining to 1967/79 FoMoCo vehicles, got all of it from Ford when he found out Ford was going to throw it into the TRASH!

But, there is a fee for this and other info.
----------------------------------------
Edit: My info came from what you see in Post #11.

It's from: The Standard Catalog of Light Duty Ford Trucks 1905-2002 / krause.com / ISBN: 0-87349-411-3 / It's currently out of print.

steponit: Thanks for posting that jazz. Sooner or later someone woulda asked what is the percentage of...this...or that!

And someone woulda had to type it.

I have a question my 79 ford f250 has the 60 front and rear end unknown. But the frame seems too be alot beefer than my 79 f250 crewcab. I know my 79 f250 dosen't have the correct vin on it. So my question Did ford make a beefer frame for f350 and f250 with the plow prep package?
