Just picked up a 1995 F-350 with the 7.3. Truck is a crew cab long bed, XLT version. Body and interior are rough (it was obvioulsy a work truck) but mechanically it seems very solid. The guy I bought it from is a mechanic and almost anything you can think of that goes bad on an old truck has been replaced recently. Tranny 15K ago, ball joints, steering box, power steering pump, water pump, alternator, and more. Truck has 260K on it and I paid $4500.

I think you did well. The 7.3 and tranny are probably worth that. Enjoy and fix'er up more, that seems to be what the rest of us are doing.

That's the plan. On the body side, the bed is what is the most beat up so I'm thinking I can just find a bed and swap it out as the tailgate and both sides are pretty bad.
I'm sure I'll be posting a lot here as I'm new to the platform (and fairly new to mechanical stuff in general, being mostly self taught).
photobucket makes it easy. they give you a cod to copy and paste. or at the bottom of the screen where you type in a replie, there is a button marked go advanced: do that and you can pull the pics right off your computer
