Newbie with Questions... HELP!
hey guys, just bought a 1967 f-250 highboy with a rebuilt 390 and a 4spd manual. I have MANY questions, but the three most important ones i have a the moment are: (1) I have heard of swaping newer Super Duty axles into these things, how is that done? (2) can i swap out my 4 spd for a 5 spd and what trans should i use, especially if i swap the axles? (3) i have seen some articles for adding power steering, but i only have some mechanical experience and i am an active duty marine living in the barracks so i can't really weld, so i was wondering if there is a more bolt-on method to converting to power steering? thank you in advance for any help with these.

the only question i can answere is the power steering, and it's easy. you can use gear box and column from 67 all the way up to 79 for sure... possibly other years too. if the truck was original 390 you will probably have to change driver side frame pad, as the gear box will hit it, i found that out the hard way, also pump & brackets will work from any 352-428, but be sure to grab all pullys. everything will bolt right up, you might have to fiddle with wiring column but it's not hard.
