If you have an E4OD trans then the MAP sensor is correct. It is used by the transmission to adjust the shift points at altitude.
If it was me, I would get a new fuel filter and a can of Diesel Kleen. Remove and discard the old fuel filter, fill the new filter with Diesel Kleen and install. Start the engine and run for 30secs and shut it off. Let it sit for a few hours and then take it for a drive.
If that doesn`t help then check the fuel pressure put out by the lift pump, it may be weak.
i did all that already. i have another thread in the powerstroke forum that is getting moved over here. i also added the electric pump.
no the only way to check is to do a pressure test on the cylinders i know the most prone are i believe 4,8,2 and i believe maybe 1 other somone else will know but you can do a pressure test and it will give you a 100% answer the test strips are just gunna tell you if the po kept up with the sca if it test good on the sca level then dont worry bout it cause the po kept it in check if it test no sca or a few then you can pray or do a pressure test but since you have it know no matter what go ahead and change the coolant out and put in the cat or another one you like and change it every 2 or 3 years and you will be good just be sure what you choose is premixed with sca or you can add them yourself i like it premixed better
well what is the coolant in there is it the reg green coolant if so then yes cause the reg green coolant has no sca he would have to have mixed it in with it and i rally doubt he would have know about it right before he sold it if he had never done it before
ya napa has them and napa might have sca addaditive and joe is right you can also smell the exaust it will smell sweet if it has cavatation and if you like easy fixes and simple cheap parts the idi is perfect easy to fix and simple to make more power out of i mean a turn of a bolt and you got ip injecting more fuel thats cheap power there lol
well ya but the best way is pressure test for cavatation the oil will tell but to figure out which cylinder you will have to pressure test anyway so if the thought concerns you by a kit and do each cylinder and pray while you do it
i found a local shop that will check my injectors for free. so here iam pulling them, i got 4 out on the driver side and they go CODE D, BB, BB WITH NO COPPER RING, E. I havent got to the pass side yet.
