I just bough a 1988 xlt 350w 3speed bronco. I know i will never get great gass mileage, but is there any way i can swap my 1988 3 speed to a 4 speed overdrive without changeing the bell houseing, transfercase, and everything else. Or are there any kits out there that will help my trany without takeing it apart.
Also i have a corvette and there are tons of catalogs out there for it, but i haven't found any for bronco's. IF anyone knows of one just for broncos please let me know.
now your motor is a 351 not 350, im sure you new that though. now is your tranny an automatic or manuel, im assuming sense you said three speed that it is an auto, and a c6 at that.
Automatics you have to replace the whole unit, you can keep the transfercase that wont be a problem i dont think. the only other tranny you could go with if your wanting to stay with the auto would be an AOD . There nice but not as strong as the c6 unless you dump a bunch of money into it. im sure you could find a few guys in here that would trade you there aod for your c6 .
What are you plans for this rig, will it be a tower, 4x4er or daily driver. this will be important on the combo you decide
