4 speed truck tranny like np435 takes the 90 wt lube or equilivent.

Thanks a bunch. I'll be doing that next weekend now seeing how I need to yank my motor now to get at some things.

There should be a sticker on your door frame. IIRC, all 4speeds of that era specified 50wt motor oil. Both my F100 4x4 with an NP435 and my F250 with a T18 specify 50wt. I have been running 15w40 diesel rated motor oil in both, pulled some pretty heavy loads with the F250 with no complaints.
