as a couple people know, im hot rodding my 6.0. im to the point where im gonna order guages. i didnt think about it before hand and i ordered a 3 guauge pod. now i just need to know what 3 guages to get
What year truck are we talking about hear? If only going with three I would have to suggest egt, fuel pressure, and coolant temp. But you really should have oil temp as well.
While you do have trans and coolant temp in the dash they are not "real guages" they are more like glorified idiot lights. They are not in the least bit accurate. By the time you see an increase on one of those gauges you are most likely way too hot. You shouldn't go by them. Being an 07 you should have a in dash boost gauge. Those are pretty accuarte. I wouldn't worry about getting a boost gauge just yet.
How much are you wanting to put down at the rear wheels and what else do you do with the truck? Even if money isn't a factor in hotrodding, you might have other limiting factors that aren't readily apparent.
well now thats a good question. im not tryin to get rediculous with my truck. im wanna stop at about 750 hp. it cost too dang much to really hot rod these old fords.

Are you going to race this on the strip or is it just a street truck? 750 will be a waste on a street truck. You won't ever see that much HP unless you are really really really revving it up there. My 508 comes in at around 3900, you can realistically still see that on the street and be alright. 750 will be even higher.
Also bare in mind, no towing at all with that much HP unless you plan on doing some type of two turbo setup. Rather dual or sequential and even then I wouldn't tow anywhere near the weight that this things are rated for in stock form.
well i wanted to hit the dyno every now and then but im gonna make it a street truck. ill be able to unstack my programms and i was thinkin bout puttin a lil juice to itsince it is a street truck i could prolly get away towing a lill more
but we are getting off track. every1 hot rods in thier own manner. im just curious about what guages i need to put in my 3 guage piller. should i trust the factory guages. texans said i shouldnt trust the factory temp guages. so what do i need to get.

That's true, just trying to make sure the "ground" is covered so there isn't any surprised or disappointments.

I wouldn't trust any stock gauge other then speedo, tach, and fuel level. Boost is alright, but if you are going to change turbo(s), then it won't be anymore.
In my opinion, you are going to need more then just 3 gauges. The cheapest way would be to get some type of OBD-II monitor that has expansion(s) slots for atleast EGT and then do a Fuel PSI gauge seperate. If you are adding juice, you'll need a gauge for that as well.
I wouldn't run stacked programs in the first place. Counter productive. More harm then good in fact.
Based on experience from other forums, I always get nervous when someone says they plan to make 750 hp in a thread about what gauges to get. I don't mean any offense! It's just odd.
That being said, the answer is simple: get gauges that will show you what you need to monitor to safely make 750 hp. If you know how to make that kind of power, you know what you need to monitor. Factory gauges are almost never accurate, by design. They don't even have numbers on them.
