Wiper Motor

The park feature on my wipers has failed, and despite checking the earth grounding of the motor, pulling the motor out and looking for any faults, I think I'll need a new one.

These trucks aren't common, so at best i might find a half decent used one, but it'll be expensive. I've seen the remanufactured ones from companies like A1 Carone, NAPA (probably all from the same source) and was wondering if these were any good? They're certainly cheaper, if I could find a parts place that shipped to Australia!

I wonder if RHD makes a difference in the wiper motor? The wipers do mount differently, so they can point the other way.....

Good point, never thought of that.

My *suspicion* (and it's only an educated guess) is that any difference would be in the wiper
transmission only and not the motor, but I have no true knowledge either way.

Good call, rep worthy but it won't let me.

It's entirely possible that the motor isn't any different, and just the linkage was changed. But, without close inspection, it's impossible to really know.
I know the wiper motor just spins one way, and it's the linkage that causes the wipers to move back and forth.
I'd hate for the rotation to be the opposite direction, but it is a possibility......

I would think the rotation is backwards to ours, but cannot confirm this. Which side of the truck is the motor mounted on?

All my information is for american built vehicles unfortunately..

The wiper motor is mounted my passenger side, or what would be the drivers side for an american truck. The local engineers did a few tricks to make these trucks convert easily to RHD without having to make huge changes. The firewall was one key major change so it is very possible the mouting location is different. From the photos I've seen the motor looks exactly the same so I'm not sure if there's any key difference in the part itself. The rotation delivered to the wipers can be reversed through the linkage , rather than reversing the motor but I'd have to compare how the US truck linkages are setup to verify.

Funnily enough, I'm coming to the US myself later in the year, I'm just an impatient bugger.
