I'm doing some pre-trip stuff(oil change, hubs, and some other stuff),I unplugged the ICP sensor(the one on the drivers side head),and it was a little oily inside, where it plugs in,I haven't really noticed any rough running issues lately but I haven't driven it much lately either, what is this a sign of,symptoms, should I replace it now......thoughts......thanks...
How much oil? Mine had a little bit of oil inside the plug. I replaced mine and discovered the new one had a little bit of oil inside the plug a short time later. A local guy here had some truck issues and his plug had much more oil in it than mine did. Not enough to drip out the plug, but much easier to spot as soon as you unplugged it. He's been running my old ICP for about 5 months now.
Just a small touch of oil does not mean the ICP is bad, but if it's leaking too much, that's a sign it's on its way out. If you decide to change it before the trip, hang on to the old one as a spare.

There's not much at all,you kinda had to turn it to catch the light just right to see it,but there is a little there,I just was wondering how much time I had.Funds are kinda tight with RRE coming and the week after we're doin a week at the beach, not alot of skins for something I don't"have" to have.
Let me muddy up the waters a bit more...Mine was an issue a few months back and it was bone dry. Robin had a spare and he sent it to me. He said it had 90K on it, but it runs perfect.
When mine started acting up, it would have a rough idle for a little while, then it would every so often when I was idling just conk out, but like I said, no oil on it at all. If yours is running good, I would just keep an eye on it. You COULD get a spare just in case, but you can say that about everything on these trucks the older they get, you know what I mean?
