I have a 2002 with the indash 6 cd player. After listening to 3 cds, one at a time, the unit ejected the 3rd but would not take the 4th. It kept giving me the CD Error message. The unit is empty but it shows each number circled as if it were fully loaded. If I push load, it says its full. If I push eject, then the CD Error message again.
I have disconnected the battery and removed the unit and inspected it for obvious malfunctions. None jumped out at me.
Mine does this and the error on mine is the cd sticks coming out so I have a piece of card board that is thin to push above the cd to get it out then it works.

Done that too. usually had the most problem from the #4 slot...
Yep, in mine the CD does not fully eject causing the error. I take a credit card out of my wallet and stick it in the slot, move it back and forth and walla!, the CD ejects and I put in a new one. The cheapest solution I know of, cost $0.00. Just a bit frustrating. I agree on teh IPOD solution. I plug mine in through the audio port for the VCR and go AUX on the radio.
Mine does the same thing if I swich CD's or try to eject one in the SUMMERTIME, must be the heat! I have to wait till winter to change CD's. Listen to the same CD all summer by winter I have every song memorized. This is no joke.
These CD changers are not very well built. Its gotta be in the tray that holds the CD or something behind the eject slot, I have been threating to take mine apart and have a look. Wanted to find one in the junk yard first in case I can't get mine back together or I break something.
Mine was stuck, I took it out and dismantled it to get the CDs out. Replaced with a new head unit. Wish this thread was around to do the credit card trick. Oh well...
remove radio from truck, put on table and remove faceplate. reach in and remove all cds, reassemble. put in truck and power up, within a few seconds the cd changer should reset itself, unless something was forced. dont forget, no cds with a paper label.
I have also had the problem of CDs not ejecting. But in this issue, the CDs have ejected, the unit seems to sense that all slots are loaded but there are no CDs in the unit. I have removed it and verified.
