All done ... Came out slicker than a new born piglet!
Didn't tie the slave, didn't pop the piston, but I'll tie it any ways!
Lifted it till the bell housing hit the floor boards/firewall, put a jack under the transmission, removed the two last (lower) bell housing bolts, shook it a little and they came right apart, thats when my troubles started ... I couldn't move it myself, I had to have help, it's on asphalt and the wheels left some pretty good marks.
But it's out and hanging on the Jegs 2000lb engine stand that doesn't fit the motor very well... Need to do some modding to that stand, it won't go wide enough to get the upper two bolt holes and the lower two, so it's currently on the upper two and the center two with blocks supporting the front of the motor, I don't trust it yet, though it's definitely ruggedly built!
lol, yeah they're dang heavy!! I pulled my engine with the C6 attached on concrete. I had to yank the engine stand to get it to roll back a few inches at a time. Then when I got it on my engine stand (it bolted up just fine) but it's only rated at 750 lbs, so I put a jack under it as well until I got it disassembled to the bare block. Looks like it still torqued the stand a bit lol
So what are your plans with this engine? Is this going to be built to go in the new southern truck you're digging up?
I dunno know what I'm going to do with it at this point in time, hang on to it thats for sure, I may pull the heads and take a look see if it is damaged.
However it needs some corks stuffed in it's leaks!
I hope to find one that has a solid motor ... If not, I got one! (or at least one to work with)
