Find a local fastener or pipe & fittings place and see if they have an adapter. They should have just about anything.
this was the first problem I had with my truck that lead me to this site...bought the same one you did, funny thing is we still have not installed it. We ran into all the same problems you did with Napa, Riebes, Kragens etc. and all the junkyard ones had the same problems as the one on my truck.
The only thing was there is only one lead going into the new one but two leads on the truck, was told that both can be attacked to the one but that sounds hinky to me. Let me know if you run into any problems and I will do the same because we are suppose to install it this week
I just replaced my proportioning valve and I had the same issue. The fix was an adapter I found at our local Kragen store. I took the valve with me and they let me go behind the counter to try the different sizes.
Then I had to modify the warning light switch by identifying the positive lead and connecting that to the switch. The negative lead was grounded to the chassis.
