2000, lost key, help

Is this a key with a chip?
Is it cheaper to get one made, or to replace the whole ignition cylinder from a junk yard.

You're screwed. It's a chip key due to the on-board anti-theft system (PATS) and you have to get it towed over to the dealer. I think the current going rate for them to make a lost key is $175.00 ($75.00 for a duplicate) on top of the towing charge.

Call your insurance co. as your comprehensive coverage usually has lock out service. They will usually send a mobile locksmith to get you going.
