99 F250 SD Idle Problems

99 F250 SD Idle Problems
My 99 F250 SD will idle rough when you first start it. Idles between 2000-2700rpm and will act almost like its choked with a lopey idle and black smoke.
I took the IAC apart cleaned it out real well, also have a lot of what looks like gummy black carbon build up in the intake I cleaned out as best as i could.
Also doesn't has hardly any power off the start anymore.
I'm not sure if the plugs were ever changed since new, I'd assume this could be a major part of the problem. Little worried about changing them, was told they're a pain to change and they had problems with them blowing out if not torqued right?
Does anyone know what the problem is here?
While I'm at it, I've also been have CHT and ECT sensor problem for the past year now. Replaced them both twice and still getting a code that they arent working, also now getting a code that the circuit is intermitten, my overhead display has also gone out since then. Talked to a couple people who are telling me that it sounds like a PCM problem?
