Well guys i just bought a 2001 f-250 with 73,000 on it. It is a Lariat 2 wheel drive supercab. It is in excellent shape and has airbags and trailer brakes and has the 48 gallon fuel tank. It is completlet stock down to the air filter. I was just wondering what i can do to get better fuel mileage? It says that i am getting 14.7 per gallon which i dont think is very good? So i want to have a little more towing power and better fule mileage so what can i do?
Start with the intake and exhaust, you will initially get lower milleage as you have fun with them then later get used to them. Once you are used to them get a DP tuner with the 80 Economy tune.
48 gallon tank? shortbeds came with a 29 and longbeds had a 39 from the factory IIRC. if you have a 48 under the truck, that's not stock, and pretty sweet!
It does have a 48 gallon tank. Also i just got the muffler taken out and put straight pipe on it. It did not have a converter. My next plan is to get a riff raff intake. Also got a tonneau cover for it.

did you buy the tonneau cover for fuel economy or because you need a trunk?
