Dillnutz yeah it's all built. Thread was winch bumper build: roll recovery. I've been working on lots of other things the past month or so. My truck is pretty well all wired up with electronics and guages and w/e, tieing up the loose ends. I'm stoked I just got my .030 over 428 block with new cobra jet pistons today! Motors going to the shop this weekend to get assembled. I hoped I would of had it done by now but I always "make" projects for myself as my gf says. Last weekend I installed 5:13's front and rear while I waited on block.

I would have gone 538 as well but they don't make one for a 70 rear. If you had a 14 bolt in the rear I'd say go for it.

And the D60 front is the limiting factor than. I found 7.17s for the 10.25. But only 5.38s for the 60, unless I wanted custom cut.

yeah, Ive seen standard cut 7.17s for a 60 but never for reverse cut. Wonder why?

I feel Im setting myself up for the "******* o' the day" award for asking this.

I guess maybe the pinion being sofa king small in the highpinon gear set?

I'm thinkin its because the D60 standard cut is designed for a rear axle, and airplane tugs use low *** gears like that.

I would think the rc vs sc would have the same size pinion. I'm sure there haven't been much demand for anyone to take the time to cut some that low for a rc 60.

7.17 pinions are big as **** IIRC yet 5.38s have tiny pinions.

I guess Im just not that familiar with gears deep.

I've never seen a set of 7.17s in person. So for all I know u could be right. But I would think they get smaller as the #s get higher.

I ran 5.13s with 35s. Most fun I ever had in a 4x4 I think
