Hello everyone, just bought an 07 f-150 and I love it but it doesn't have a keyhole on the drivers side but, it does have a chrome cover which I suspect is covering up the keyhole, my question is should I assume there is one under the cover and drill a hole in the chrome or are there some models without a keyhole. I don't want to get stuck with a dead battery and no way to get in the truck without prying off the cover. thanks
Yeah sounds like it was an after market add on cover which doesn't come with the key holes in them. You are still going to have to remove it so that you can drill the hole but you should be able to get the tape or whatever holds it in place at pretty much any store to reattach it once you are done.
thanks Coskid I thought so. I was going to try and drill it with the cover on using a hole saw and being real careful not to go too deep, I'll have to think on it a bit more though since a cover is cheaper then a new door handle.
Oh man I would never drill something like that while it is on the door. The tape holding it in place is most likely 3M double sided adhesive tape which can be purchased from any hardware store or hobby shop. You could as get a whole new cover for 20-70 bucks depending on where you order it from.
