Towing Upgrades
I have a 2004 F150 Supercab FX4 with 95000 miles. We are doing more and more camping these days, which leaves me towing my 7500 pound travel trailer almost every weekend. Right now I am only getting about 7.5 MPG while towing. I know that if i am going to complain about gas mileage should not have bought a camper. However, I am interested in making a few cheap upgrades to help my towing. Any suggestions? Right now the truck is pure stock, and my first thought was the Edge Evolution to help with the towing and give me tranny temps. Any thoughts from anyone? Thanks.

With what you are towing and how often you are towing it the best thing I can think of is new gears. Scroll down a little bit and you will find a guy who just put in 456's in his truck along with how his first trip went for him. Its not super expensive either and would most likely be worth your time. I think he said all together parts and labor it cost about $1,400.
The Edge will help for sure but you may still want to look into the new gears too.

That was me who put the 456's in my truck worth every penny. I also have every bolt on expect for a SC, I have the edge, Throttle body riser,K&N air filter and intake,Gibson exhaust, and 35 inch tires. I towed our toy hauler witch is 30 ft prior to the gear change and i new it was there. My stk gears were 373's. witch is what you have. Short of changing the gears you will not make much up.Even towing now i'm getting between 11-14....
