I picked up a couple of axles last week and I am really unsure what the rear one is. They both came off of a F150, but they are 8 lug. There are no tags on them what so ever, but I know that the front is a Dana 44.
The bolt pattern is that of a Sterling 10.25/10.5, but has drum brakes, so I would assume that it is a 10.25. The part that is throwing me off is that the axle has an electrical connection on the top of it and it looks like a factory install.
Can anyone help me figureout what this is? Pics below.
That axle looks exactly like the Sterling 10.25 in my dads 87 F250, 4x4. Figured the electrical was the speed sensor but I've read that didn't start until in the 90's. Have not looked for an actual speedometer cable on the transfer case.
