identifiy my axle and something

i think its a sterling 10.25 but i have no idea what the attachment thing is on the left side of it any help is appeciated

Axle looks like a Ford Sterling 10.25. The thing attached to the diff housing is the brake load sensing valve. The thing on the axle tube is the axle breather pipe.
