Marinco Block Heater Plug mod - Install with Pics
My Marinco Heater Plug install:
Marinco Plug mod pictures from trucks photos on webshots
The photos have comments that step you through the install. Easy mod. Love the nice finished look of the plug instead of the cord dangling.

Chris,
Nice pics and install.
Only one suggestion.
Rather than cut off the original plug of the OEM cord, I would simply buy a pig tail female plug or find one around the shop and wire into the Marinco plug.
I have installed the Marinco plug and is very nice for pluggin' in the block heater.

The cut and splice method is definitely for anyone is experiencing a broken/chaffed wire.

Pull the cord out and have the ground facing up. When you cut the cord, the middle wire is coated with a green jacket. The wire to the left is the white and the one to the right is black. Don't twist the cord and the wire the plug. The plug is oriented the same way.

I believe it's about 1 7/8" dia when done. Since I didn't have a hole saw that small, I took the locking ring off the plug, used it as a template and drilled a series of small holes all around and cleaned it up with a Dremel tool and a sanding drum.

Mine is also mounted in the steel bumper instead of the plastic valance. Either way works great, and it's all personal preference (mine is on the driver's side of the bumper, so I don't accidentally forget to unplug it when I leave the house). I just sanded the hole smooth and applied rust inhibitor and some chrome paint along the bare edge before installing the plug.
Another thing I did was add some sealant around the boot as an added measure of waterproofing. So far it's been working flawlessly.
Nice writeup Chris.
