Blend Door Issues

I assume I'm chasing a blend door issue on my 97. Truck has manual a/c and it blows lukewarm air through the vents. I assume it is blend door related since the rear blows ice cold and the system is fully charged. Any good way to verify before pulling the dash apart?

A few things to check. First pull the temperature **** off and make sure it is not split where it pushes onto the shaft. I have had them split and the **** will not turn the shaft. The next easiest thing is to make sure the control in the dash is actually working. If you run a meter across the terminals on the back you can see if there are any changes as you rotate it. If you decided to go that route post back and I can dig up the specs. The next is to pull the console and remove the actuator motor and see if you can tell if the shaft is broken. I have removed the actuator and had pieces of the blend door shaft fall out. If that happens you know you have a broken blend door. One last thing to check while you have the actuator removed is to turn the temp control with the key on and see if it rotates as you turn the ****.

Nothing. I tried to turn on the heater on panel and it blows out 85 degrees. The same temperature as the air conditioner.

Thanks. I'll check the **** today. The console is already out since I had to replace the factory amp and put in a radio. The P/O shorted out the amp with an aftermarket radio. I couldn't believe how difficult it was to get to and replace the amp.
If it is a blend door, is it different between the auto and manual AC cars? The donor at the local PNP has to date been gracious enough to supply all the interior pieces and radio stuff I needed, but it had auto AC. I assume the switch interchanges with the F150?

Looking up the actuator for a 97 shows no differentiation between auto and manual ac, so it looks like the door and actuator are the same. Not sure on the switch interchange with an f150, but likely will fit.

That's good...when these trucks (or expeditions) show up at the PNP yards, people gut them like a fish on day one. An '06 expedition showed up and someone cut the entire side off it.
