(RE) Updated my DP Chip

Yea I finally sent my chip in to Jody for the latest, greatest tune upgrade plus 1 more new tune. Old Red ran goooood before I sent it in. Got the chip back Friday and of coarse had to put it in as soon as I got home. Well I have a email and voice mail out to Jody. The truck don't run as good as it did. It has way less response in 80e than it did and has as much or more smoke plus the higher tuner are not as good as they use to be. I am sure we will get it worked out and get Red running good again since we all know Jody's customer service is great. Just thought I would post this because it does happen, but why to me so much

I got my tunes upgraded by Jody last weekend when he was in Denver and the shifting in 80E is MUCH nicer. I didn't notice any decrease in response for my 80E but I do seem to be getting more smoke. I haven't run enough full tanks yet, but I think the updated 80E is a bit more fuel efficient. I added the 60E so that once I'm up to cruising speed on the highway, I can drop to the 60E and use a bit less fuel but still have the response and shifting of the "E" tunes.

Yea Mike the F6 would be nice now, it would cut down on S/H charges and the time factor. My modified stock tune has more get up and go than the 80E down low but give it a minute and this 80e does finally come on but it still smokes as much or more than my old tune did. I am glad its working out for you Brendan.

I hate that for ya Eddie. That is why when Jody sends me updates I create a new folder for them. That way if I like one of the older files better I still have it. Perks of the F6. Do you have a moddifed stock file on your pcm so you can still drive your truck without the chip?

I was scanning the forums before we went to bed and noticed your post Eddie. Looking at your sig what is happening with the tunes is not the tunes. We are taking tomorrow off for the 4th holiday, Please call Jody on Tuesday so he can talk to you.

Thanks

Diane

That's great, Eddie. Can you still drive your truck without the chip?

Thats a negative Huck. I didn't want to spend the jack to flash the pcm. But I do have the modified stock tune on the chip which doesn't do me any good now.

Get that done at RRE Eddie. I made sure to have that done during my live tune since my truck will never have splits again. Chip problem, no problem, just pull chip and get fixed. I might just move to the new setup now though. FWIW I did drive my truck with split shot tuning with the hybrids in it. It was not ideal but it worked. I was told it would not hurt anything.

Well I got the chip back last Wednesday and put it in asap so I just wanted to give a update. Ole Red is running stronger than ever WOW what a difference the new tunes made even compared to my earlier tunes. Jody fixed them from what was done the last update plus updated to my setup. Got to say his customer service was great.
