Another 400 build

400 engine for Bob Freemire. This engine is powder coated %100. Block, heads, oil pan, timing cover & valve covers are coated a different color.

What heads are on it ? t I see the spacers.

intake selection?

I'm currently looking at the edelbrok air gap or blue thunder dual plan. have been hearing good things with air gap but port mismatch slight issue. Did you work the port any to help things out? Nice lookin motor and whats it goin in? Mines going in a 4wd truck. Catch you later,very nice.

HI THERE I'M TO THIS SITE SO BARE WITH ME.I'M PUTING TOGETHER A 56 AND I HAVE A 351M/400 MOTOR I THINK A 1974.THE CASTING # IS D7TE-A3B AND ABOVE IT IS 6D14. IT RUNS SMOOTH NOW. I WANT TO CLEAN IT UP AND PUT IT BACK WITH A HEI DISTRIBUTOR.MY QUESTION IS WHOSE SHOULD I USE .I HEAR DIFFERENT OPINIONS OF MSD,PROFORM,ACCEL AND ETC.,THE TRUCK IS GOING TO BE A STREETROD AND DAILY DRIVER.ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED THANK YOU

i went with MSD, ive never used any of the others you listed. MSD has a ready to run distributor, pretty easy to hook up. you need MSD ingnition box to run any of there distributors. Not nessasarily MSD box, But a ingintion box. Then you wiil have to run at least 8.5mm spark plug wires too. It cost all together about $700 to $800. Hope this helps, Bob.

Bobby,

I've used both the Performance Distributors DUI and Pertronix Flamethrower II distributor. The Pertronix is reasonably priced and you can run it a stand alone or add an ignition box.

Hi Bobby,

You can create your own thread if you have any questions, also try using lower case, I know you are not, but by using capital letters, (UPPERCASE), or oversized fonts most likely will make the reader feel they are being shouted at.
