TOWING DRAW BAR ADAPTOR

I have 2008 Escape with factory towing with 1.25" hitch, and a bunch of 2" draw bars for my F150 that I would like to make use of. Trailer store has a 2" to 1.25" adaptor unit that would stick out the back of the Escape about a foot..

Anyone used these and are they safe? Just planning to pull a light cargo trailer hauling bbq to the campground.

I'd be tempted to put a 2" receiver on it. My 2008 hybrid has a Uhaul hitch receiver and it works fine. The extenders are ok (had one on a Mariner), I just don't like the extra slop.

thought of that but they tell me the factory hitch is welded to the bumper so adding a 2" receiver would mean putting it underneath, so 2 hitches on the vehicle would be even sloppier.
