I'd be happy to assist you anytime, so long as you only needed a supervisor....... LOL.
Sounds like my friends. They come over and stand around.

i learned early on that cinder blocks suck beeegtime. was about 10 years old helping my brother work on some lil piece o crap car. he liked using blocks back then. front end up on blocks, he put the back end up, pulled the jack, literally 3 seconds later....BOOM!!! all four corners blew up!!! only saving grace, it happened fast, so noone had time to get under it.
so, like i say, i learned early. he did not. to my knowledge he still does that hazardous crap all the time.
When I swap the axles under my truck, I'm hoping to either have access to a lift, or at least a wrecker. If it really comes down to it, I do have some 3 ton stands.
As for the cinder blocks, my former wifes brother tried putting his truck on blocks under all 4 corners. Before he managed to get under it, the truck shifted sideways about 2 ft right on one end, and 2 ft left on the other. Never seen one literally spin 90* as it fell to the ground before. Very comical sight, since he wasn't under it..........
dey been using dem in da hood and the bario fer years homes. i guess ethnic folk know how to use them properly, because they can get a truck up on blocks and jack everything of value off of it faster than most pit crews can change a set of tires.
stack em like you buildin a house then put a piece of plywood over the top to distribute the load. If you absoultely have to use them, I'd prefer big chunks of 4x4 or larger though in a bind.
Its 3am, and obviously I can't sleep, figured i'd check up on FTE and see what you kids have been up to.
But i'm curious, what do you guys use to hold your truck's up while doing axle swaps and such? I was thinking of buying some kind of lift for the shop, right now my current method is a forklift, 6 ton jack stands and big wood blocks. (As a platform for the jackstands..)
Anyone have something better?
BIG log rounds with wood blocks on top of them. I have used a 55 gallon drum to hold up the rear of my friends truck for his lift, but not on the front. And the track hoe works well if it's at home
