Mine had gotten out of it's channel so it was putting the top of the glass in an awkward position and the outer part of the strip was bowed out----> wind noise. I readjusted the piece by putting it back in the channel, and it fits like it's supposed to again. Not sure how long and if it will last, but I have a couple other ideas for it if it doesn't. The piece is kind of short and looks like it will be prone to getting out of adjustment from time to time as the windows are rolled up and down.
Great tip. Can you take a photo of the area you're describing?

This is at the upper rear corner of the front side glass. Notice how the piece wants to push out at the bottom into the other channel instead of staying inside it's designated area. Mine had rolled up in between the glass and the lip of the weatherstrip forcing the window out in an awkward position and producing a bulge that caught air = wind noise. Also, I'm white but not as white as it looks in the pics....the reflection of the flash on my fingers makes me look fluorescent and almost ghostly

Thanks for that picture I also have a very annoying wind whistle on my driver door window. I can make it go away sometimes if I crack the window then roll it back up, other times not. I will have to check that area out on mine to see if the rubber deal is missing or something. I know I am not looking to drive 1.5 hrs to my dealer if it is something that simple.

While I don't have any wind noise I thought I'd try the door seal mod. I bought 50' of black latex tubing for $32.99 shipped to me on Amazon. I thought that was a pretty decent price so I'm passing on the link.

Thanks for the tip! Also, when I saw your photo I thought the afterlife had also begun buying Fords!

Epic,

Great mod! I did it to the drivers door last night. Bought the tubing from where you got yours. My doors have been rattling at the hing since I got my new 2011. The dealer has tightened it up to the point it cannot be moved anymore in the latch area. I did this mod to my drivers door last night and it has seemed to help it a ton. Its so tight now, you have to close that door good or it will not close all the way. When you open the door it releases it pretty quick too.
I was about to give up hope with my dealer but this may help it. I will do all the three other doors tonight and report in.

Good to hear (or not to hear, in this case). Just give that molding a little time to settle in and it won't take so much force to close the door. You may want to adjust the door back to the factory position to free it up a little bit.

Ok I may but I am so scared it's going to start that rattling in the latch area. Sorry if I said hinge area earlier. Never had hinge problems just in the latch area. That rattle is horrible

I checked that little strip that f2502011 pointed out and mine seemed ok. I shifted mine around a little and it made things worse. However while things were worse I was able to find that if I pushed on the inside corner the wind noise subsided. The noise was better overall without that little strip.

So I pulled the rubber trim back from the door and put a small bead of black silicone on the door and reseated the trim. Hopfully that will seal the window up.

Just an FYI if you add weather guard in channel vent visors you will also add wind noise - on both doors.

I did the door seal mod this weekend to try and eliminate the wind noise from the drivers window. Mod was very easy to do but did not eliminate the wind noise. Also, the 3" piece of floating material is not even on my truck. It's always something man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a lot of exclamation points! lol. Sorry man, try folding in the mirrors when driving if you haven't already and see what happens.

I have been following this and did Epics mod. It is a great mod!

I did still have some wind noise and come to find out it was the plastic strip between the rear door and the drivers door when closed.I have not yet perfected it to get all the wind noise out. I took some weather stripping foam and applied it to that seal. It totally changed the noise and took alot out. It did have a whistling noise due to the thick weather seal i put on it.
I got almost 90% out after I took the foam weather stripping off and started to move the striker to get the door closer to that seal. If that door isnt just right on that seal then its going to make wind noise.
I could not get all the noise out but 90% is gone. I quit trying to get that 10% out since I have vent visors. Thats probably where that 10% is coming from.

Ok I have played with this and played with it. I just cannot find the cause. I have done the mod on all doors and still some drivers door wind noise over 65mph. While playing with the striker, the door rattles came back. I have gone back to getting those out and I have for the mean time. I bought a non modded seal to try in the doors if the striker gets too tight. I have folded mirrors in down highway and no change. If this keeps up for another month, I guess I will take it to ford and let them worry about it

It sounds like it is in the upper corner. Any ideas? What else could I change?
