Ok thanks, I just saw in your post about marking the spot, so I thought it might be important. Ha.

My wife and I did this mod today after work (she has not talked to me since) and I must say it was easy and well worth the money. I can't say about the wind noise yet, but the door just shuts so much better. No rattle or anything. But I did find that after I installed the seal back it was shorter by a half inch? I think the tubing has drawed up the seal or something? I say it will come back before the morning.

Yes my 2011 F350 CC has a lot of wind noise...Im almost afraid to let the local dealer mess with it as they seem to know very little about these new trucks...

Now that's scary. :-)

Maybe try the Chevy dealer. :-)

My son kept slamming the door so we did this mod today. It is a pretty significant change!

Unfortunately, the tubing was $1.70 a foot, but I didn't want to wait for mail-order.

I also broke the alignment tab on the forward end of each backseat door sill. It does not appear to affect anything. The tab does not go through the floor to the outside. It just rests in the forward trim, or something like that.

i see that there is a 1/16 wall tube and a 3/32 wall tube, which one should i use? Also latex or silicon they say latex has better memory and does not stretch out

1/16th wall is what most people use. The 3/32 would be very stiff. I haven't had to choose between latex and silicon before but I'm pretty sure the standard stuff is latex.

What a great idea. What type of material was the surgical tubing, latex/vinyl?

Did the epic's door seal mod today... Doors shut nice and tight now.... Still have some wind noise.. I believe it is coming in right where the fender meets the door and then travels up the door...

Gonna have to come up with something to fix.....

How many feet are needed for a CC? I could estimate from your post, but wanted real world info.

I have the same wind noise. Driver's side only. Sounds like mine is at the back of the door or window. Anyone have an update on the dealer being able to fix this? I do have a bug deflector on my truck and have had issues with wind noise and those on different trucks in the past. I'm wondering if that may be the culprit granted it's been on the truck longer than the noise has been a problem. Anyone else with the wind noise have a bug shield?

Easy Fix

...Turns out there is a small piece of supplemental material. It seems to be a soft rubber compound, softer than windshield washer tubing and weatherstrip material although I'm not exactly sure what it is. It's about 2 to 3 inches long and fits in the weatherstrip channel at the upper back of the front glass forcing the glass outward so it can make a tight seal between the outer and inner piece of the weatherstrip. Mine had gotten out of it's channel so it was putting the top of the glass in an awkward position and the outer part of the strip was bowed out----> wind noise. I readjusted the piece by putting it back in the channel, and it fits like it's supposed to again. Not sure how long and if it will last, but I have a couple other ideas for it if it doesn't. The piece is kind of short and looks like it will be prone to getting out of adjustment from time to time as the windows are rolled up and down.
